Senators' goalie Ray Emery cleared waivers on Monday, becoming an unrestricted free agent after being bought out by the team, as reported by the Associated Press.
Emery was owed $6.75M over the next two seasons.

The Predators and defenseman Shea Weber could finalize a new deal on Monday, according to The Tennessean.
He is expected to sign a multi-year deal with the team.

Report: Avery To Become Free Agent
The Rangers apparently want no part in trying to re-sign Sean Avery.
According to the New York Daily News, Avery is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, despite his value to the team. Since the Rangers acquired Avery from the Kings on February 5, 2007, New York is 50-20-16 with him in the lineup and 9-13-3 when he is not.
Report: Malkin Wants To Stay With Pens
Evgeni Malkin appears to be willing to remain a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to a report on ESPN.com.
On Friday, the Toronto Star reported that numerous teams in Russia were ready to offer Malkin a huge contract that includes a tax-free multi-year salary of $12.5 million a season.
"He wants to stay in Pittsburgh," his agent J.P. Barry told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "He wants them to keep as many players as they can, so we're working on a term and a structure that will hopefully do that."

The Canadiens received permission from the Maple Leafs to speak with Toronto captain Mats Sundin, who becomes an unrestricted free agent July 1, according to an Associated Press report.
Maple Leafs GM Cliff Fletcher told The Canadian Press on Friday that the team had given its permission, but he had no other comment.
